Short answers to what new customers ask about getting a number, refunds, crypto top-ups and account keys.
Getting numbers and codes
How does a tomnumber virtual number work?
You type it into the phone number field of the app you're verifying. The code that app sends shows up under My numbers in your tomnumber dashboard. You don't need a new SIM or a spare phone.
What happens to my money if the code never comes?
You get it back. A one-time number waits 25 minutes for the code, and if nothing arrives by then the price returns to your balance automatically. Cancelling before a code arrives is refunded too.
Which apps can I verify?
104 apps are listed, including WhatsApp, Telegram, Google, KakaoTalk, OpenAI and TikTok. If yours isn't there, choose "Other app" and get a number that way.
Do these numbers support calls or outgoing SMS?
No. Numbers are receive-only, so you can read incoming texts and nothing more.
What if I have to verify with the same number later?
A one-time number is done after one code. For repeat logins, rent a number for 3, 14 or 30 days instead. Rentals are offered in 12 countries, take SMS from any app during the period and can't be refunded.
Can other people see my verification texts?
No. A text sent to your number appears only in the dashboard of the account that bought it.
Prices and crypto top-ups
Why do prices differ between apps?
The price depends on the app and the country together, so the same app can cost more in one country than another. Numbers start at $0.08, and you always see the price before you get one.
What's the smallest top-up?
Each top-up can be between $50 and $5,000. Some countries have a minimum half that size, and the top-up page shows the amount for the country you're visiting from.
Can I pay by card or bank transfer?
No, top-ups are crypto only. We take USDT, USDC, BTC, ETH, BNB, SOL and LTC, and for USDT and USDC you also pick the network to send on. Your balance can't be withdrawn; it's only used to buy numbers.
Is there a bonus for topping up?
Yes, from $100: $100 +20%, $200 +25%, $300 +30%, $500 +35%, $1,000 +40%, $3,000 +45%, $5,000 +50%. If you enter your own amount, you get the bonus of the nearest tier at or below it.
Accounts and usage rules
How do I create an account?
Choose either way. With an account key, you sign in using one key that starts with tom_. Or pick a username and password. We never ask for an email. Later you can add the other method in Settings and use both.
How many tomnumber accounts are allowed?
Up to 3 accounts per internet connection (IP address).
I lost my account key.
We don't store the key itself, so it can't be shown to you again. If you also set a username and password on that account, sign in with those. Save your key somewhere safe when you sign up.
What can't the numbers be used for?
Anything illegal, such as taking over someone else's account, fraud or sending spam. Accounts caught doing this lose access.
